Description
Learn to love throwing, and how to do it in one weekend in this 2 day intensive weekend pottery class for complete beginners and intermediates.
In this class you’ll be guided by an experienced tutor through the whole process of throwing pots on a wheel: from throwing cylinders and bowls, to turning the underneath of your pieces. With a focus on centring and learning to throw independently, the weekend is fun, therapeutic and hard work. 2 hours isn’t enough to learn throwing, so this pottery wheel throwing weekend gives you more scope to throw independently. Each person has their own potter’s wheel during the entire workshop.
You can choose to keep your 5 best pots and have them twice fired and clear glazed for collection a few weeks later OR glaze any amount of them yourself in an extra session(s).
This class will be held in our new studio at 85 Northwestern Street, M12 6DY.
- All materials and equipment are included in the workshop.
- We recommend: short nails, wearing clothes you don’t mind getting dirty (aprons provided), and bringing along a hand towel.
- This workshop includes a 10-20 minute clean-up each day.
- Although it’s not necessary, we recommend first trying our taster class if you haven’t tried pottery before.
