Description
A 12 week pottery wheel throwing course for beginners and intermediates.
In this course you’ll be guided by an experienced tutor through the whole process of throwing pots on a wheel: from throwing cylinders and bowls, to turning the underneath of your pieces. With a focus on centring and learning to throw independently, the course will engross you in the process, helping you lose track of time. Towards the end of the course your pots will be fired and you’ll learn to finish them with glazes and slips.
Each class is 2.5 hours long with 2 hours for making and tuition and up to 30 minutes for cleaning.
This class will be held in our new studio at 85 Northwestern Street, M12 6DY.
- Each person has their own potter’s wheel during the entire course.
- All equipment is included in the course.
- We recommend: short nails, wearing clothes you don’t mind getting dirty (aprons provided), and bringing along a hand towel.
- Materials are charged at 1.80 per lb on collection.
- Although it’s not necessary, we recommend first trying our taster class if you haven’t tried pottery before.
